Parents’ Association (PTA)

The Darlinghurst School PTA are a group of parents, teachers and staff who give up some of their time to organise a number of events during the school year. They aim to raise money from these events and spend the money to improve the children’s education – usually on fun or special things that the normal school budget won’t easily stretch to.

Who are they?

The members of the committee are the driving force behind the Darlinghurst School PTA fundraising, ably supported by other parents and teachers who are prepared to help out during the year at the various events and attend the meetings.

Meeting dates

They usually meet each half term in the morning at school, once they have dropped their children off. These meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend so if you are interested to hear about their plans and to see if you would like to join, please go along. The number of events they run depends on the number of volunteers they have and what their fund raising target is for the forthcoming year.

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The AGM is held in October. Statutory members of the committee are elected, accounts are signed off and agreement is reached on the events that are intended to run.

What our PTA say… pta

Anyone who is thinking about joining the PTA I would urge you to do it! The 3 years I was a member of the PTA were extremely rewarding, I have gained fantastic, lifelong friends, we have raised funds for the school that would go towards enhancing our children’s school experience and, most importantly, we were able to see the sheer excitement and happiness that events brought to our children and families; school discos, inflatable days, visits from Father Christmas, Christmas Fayre’s to name a few. All of these events have really highlighted what a welcoming and friendly community our school is
