Learning and life skills
The teaching of learning and life skills is not only part of our curriculum but also part of our personal development programme.
The skills support children in their
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication skills
- Thinking skills
They following areas are covered explicitly within the RSHE curriculum with key lessons and assemblies linked to each area:
- Learning Together
- Its up to me
- Becoming a better learner
- Knowing me, knowing you
- Think, think, think
- Speaking and listening
I can statements are promoted and given recognition. Links are made in lessons where the skills can be developed or applied.
They are used across the academy building on characteristics of learning in the Early Years and linking to the PE skills and attributes.
